Tottenham player ratings vs Wolves as 8/10 trio lead Spurs to first win of 2026

The full-time whistle has been blown in the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur at Molineux Stadium, and it is time for our player ratings.

A late goal from Joao Palhinha ensured Tottenham secured all three points in their all-important relegation clash with Wolves. However, West Ham United also secured victory against Everton, leaving Spurs in the bottom three.

Let us take a look at how the individual players got on.

Tottenham player ratings vs Wolves

Antonin Kinsky – The Czech international had little to do in the first half, but showed his sharpness after the break when Armstrong looked to capitalise on an error from Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso. He was then forced into a fine save late in the second half after Joao Gomes came very close from a free kick. 8.

Pedro Porro After an impressive first-half display, Porro picked up where he left off, creating the first big chance of the second half by releasing Xavi Simons, although the Dutchman could not keep his effort down. He continued to pose a lot of questions to Wolves’ defence with his crosses from deep. 8.

Kevin Danso – The Tottenham centre-back posed a set-piece threat in the first half, but was less involved after the break. He did come close to another costly error, however, after a short header allowed Armstrong in, only for Kinsky to bail him out. 6.5.

Micky van de Ven Largely untroubled in the first half, but appeared to switch off in the second as a long ball allowed Armstrong through, with van de Ven not doing enough to stop the danger. 6.

Djed Spence He held width well in the first half and offered support down the left in the absence of Destiny Udogie. In the second half, he continued in a similar role but was largely ineffective in the final third, often holding on to the ball for too long. 5.

Rodrigo Bentancur – Composed in midfield, he dictated play with neat one-touch passing and close control. He continued that in the second half, also joining attacks when needed, although he was booked and saw a fine headed effort saved. 8.

Yves Bissouma – A solid first-half display saw him protect the back four and support attacks, but he lacked sharpness and was eventually replaced in the second half. 7.

Conor Gallagher – He brought energy to the Tottenham press in the first half and continued to harry the Wolves defence after the break. His pressing led to a booking after he arrived late on a loose ball, but he did little to help Spurs create chances. 6.5.

Xavi Simons Quiet in the first half, but came alive after the break, going close when played through by Porro before firing over. He later picked up a knee knock and was substituted. 5.

Dominic Solanke He had little service in the first half and was forced off before the break after picking up what looked like a hamstring injury. 5.

Randal Kolo Muani He had Spurs’ best chance of the first half but fired wide after capitalising on a loose ball. He struggled to influence proceedings thereafter and was withdrawn at half-time. 4.

Substitutes

Richarlison – He replaced Solanke and, like the striker, had limited opportunities, but did manage to register an assist following a scramble in the box from a Pedro Porro corner. 6.

Mathys Tel – He came on and looked bright, and full of running. The goal may go to Palhinha, but Tel earned that corner from absolutely nothing. 7.5.

Lucas Bergvall – Introduced for Xavi Simons, he operated in the number ten role but saw little of the ball. Did well to get Spurs up the pitch in the final minutes though. 6.

Joao Palhinha – He replaced Yves Bissouma and provided protection in front of the defence. He also scored the winning goal after reacting quickest in the box following a scramble. 7.
