Trump: Trip for Witkoff, Kushner to Pakistan for talks with Iran off

President Donald Trump multiple times has called for talks with Iran to move the process to return the Middle East to peace forward.

Multiple times there have been talks, and then issues that apparently were discussed, the plans adopted, have been denied by Iran.

The latest idea was for U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to travel to Pakistan this weekend for discussions.

President Donald Trump has called it off, according to a report posted online at Fox.

The report said Trump told Fox News’ White House correspondent Aishah Hasnie of the change.

It’s simply not worth have the delegation make the 18-hour flight when the U.S. “holds all the cards,” he said.

“I’ve told my people a little while ago they were getting ready to leave, and I said, ‘Nope, you’re not making an 18 hour flight to go there. We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want, but you’re not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing’,” Trump said.

White House officials said Iran had requested the meetings to discuss a “potential peace agreement,” reports have confirmed.

Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt earlier said Witkoff and Kushner would be “off to Pakistan” for talks.

“The Iranians reached out as the president called on them to do and asked for this in-person conversation, so the president is dispatching Steve and Jared to go hear what they have to say and we’re hopeful that it will be a productive conversation and hopefully move the ball forward towards a deal,” she said before plans changed.

Earlier talks attended by Vice President JD Vance did not produce a deal because Iran refused to give up its nuclear program, which it has used to threaten annihilation of other countries around the world.

Trump just days ago extended his ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran to open the door for a solution.

But he continues the American blockade of Iranian ports.
