Netanyahu Says He Held “Very Good” Call with Trump on Iran Pressure
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says he discussed Iran with Donald Trump, coordinating pressure efforts and warning over Hezbollah amid Lebanon tensions.
Benjamin Netanyahu said he held a “very good” phone call with Donald Trump, focusing on coordinated efforts to increase pressure on Iran.
In a video statement on Friday, Netanyahu said Israel and the United States are working in full coordination to intensify economic and military pressure on Tehran.
He added that Trump is pursuing stronger measures against Iran, as both sides align their strategies on regional security concerns.
Netanyahu also said that a path toward what he called a “historic peace” with Lebanon has begun, though he accused Hezbollah of attempting to undermine the process.
Tensions between Israel and Iran remain high amid ongoing disputes over regional influence, nuclear concerns, and support for allied armed groups across the Middle East.
The United States has recently pushed for broader de-escalation efforts in the region, including temporary ceasefire arrangements involving Israel and Lebanon, while maintaining pressure on Iran through sanctions and diplomatic isolation.
Earlier, Trump announced an extension of a three-week ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and suggested the possibility of future leadership-level engagement between the two countries.
However, Hezbollah rejected the extension as “meaningless” and warned it reserves the right to respond to any Israeli attacks, underscoring continued volatility along the border.
