Luke Combs Charity Stream Raises Huge Amount for Children’s Hospital

On top of being a multi-award-winning musician and card collector, Luke Combscan add philanthropist to his resumé.

In a social media-savvy move, the "When it Rains It Pours" singer streamed himself opening packs of sports cards on eBay, offering collectors' items to the highest bidder. To kick-start his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour, Combs announced his new charity scheme for card collectors, called "Packs With Purpose."

"So we have a little program that I put together with my team and a few other folks in the kind of the card industry hobby," Combs told his TikTok followers. "I think this would just be a really fun way to engage with you guys to engage the you know the kind of the card community, and do some good, raising some money for some local organizations that could use the funds."

While the final total hasn't been released by Combs' camp, one charity has revealed they received a substantial amount from the country singer — and it's still climbing. Following his stream while on the road in Indiana, local charity A Rosie Place For Children, which specializes in hospital care for kids, thanked the musician for his recent donation.

"We were able to personally thank Luke Combs and Luke Combs HQ for choosing A Rosie Place for Children as the recipient of the dollars raised during the Packs with Purpose event," the charity announced in a Facebook post.

"We don't have the final total yet, but we know it's over $150,000! $150,000 raised to create a world of YES for medically fragile children and their families. That's more than 200 sleepovers provided for children at no cost to families! We are in awe and overcome with gratitude."

"The fact that he would highlight medically fragile children," says Bishop. "The fact that he would say and shine this spotlight on a population that is really not seen and not heard very often." 

Bishop says the gift translates to more than 200 sleepovers for medically fragile children at no cost to their families.

"It's providing this opportunity for children to come and create art, and take bubble baths, and things they just can't normally do at home," Founder and CEO Tieal Bishop told local outlet ABC7. "Our children are on ventilators, they have feeding tubes, they have all kinds of medical complexities just to their everyday living, and their parents are the primary caretakers. So, we just want to come alongside them, journey with them, and partner with them, and say 'Hey, let us be your child's first sleepover, let us be your extended family.'" 

"If Luke Combs can understand what it might be to be a parent of a medically fragile child, to really understand and wrap his arms around a mission like this, that inspires me that the broader community here in Michiana will understand getting behind this and really exploring what this mission is, exploring who these children are," Bishop added.
