LSU transfer forward Jalen Reed commits to Michigan
By JAMES MADDEN
The defending champion, Michigan, has added its second high-major transfer of the offseason.
The Wolverines are now set to bring in LSU transfer Jalen Reed, just two weeks after they landed Tennessee transfer JP Estrella.
Reed, a 6-foot-10 forward from Mississippi, appeared in just six games for the Tigers this season before suffering a season-ending achilles injury, marking the second straight season he suffered an injury forcing him to miss significant time.
In the six games this season, he averaged 9.5 points and 5.7 rebounds pr game for the Tigers, while coming off the bench in all six.
Reed will be seeking a medical hardship waiver, having played just 14 games over the last two seasons due to an Achilles and ACL injury.
His status to return to the court is still unknown, as it’s dependent on his recovery timetable, which can take longer than a year in some cases.
Reed joins a recruiting class at Michigan that is currently ranked No. 3 overall by 247Sports.
