Dodgers' Freddie Freeman, Wife Welcome Fourth Child
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, just welcomed their fourth child to the world.
On Tuesday, April 21, the couple announced the birth of their first daughter: London Rosemary Joy Freeman.
Freddie and Chelsea shared a photo of their growing family, featuring their three sons: Max and Brandon, 5, and Charlie, 9.
The Freeman family first announced that they were expecting their fourth child via surrogacy in a February post.
"Worth the wait. Baby #4 is on the way and our hearts are already so full," they wrote in a joint post on Instagram. "We are incredibly grateful for the amazing woman helping bring our baby into our lives, and we’re choosing to honor her privacy as we walk this chapter."
The Dodgers reacted to the announcement with a message in the comment section.
"Congratulations, Freddie and Chelsea! Welcome to the world, London," the team wrote.
Freeman and the Dodgers are prepared to defend their back-to-back World Series titles in 2026, hoping to become the first team to notch a three-peat since the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998-2000. Los Angeles currently holds one of the best records in MLB at 16-7.
Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam to win Game 1 of the Dodgers' 2024 World Series matchup against the Yankees. This past year, he recorded another walk-off home run in the 18th inning of an iconic Game 3 matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays.
While baseball is a huge part of the Freeman family's life, Chelsea said Freddie's main focus is on fatherhood.
"As long as I've known [Freddie], he said that since he was a little boy, he always knew he wanted to be a dad," Chelsea told ESPN in a 2021 interview. "As important as being a baseball player to him is, I think being a dad is even more important."
