Darrell Sheets Death: Castmate Claims ‘Storage Wars’ Star Was Tormented by Cyberbully
The passing of Storage Wars legend Darrell Sheets has taken a disturbing turn as fellow castmates point to a "secret" tormentor they believe may have played a role in the star's tragic final days.
While the 67-year-old's death was reported as an apparent suicide, his longtime friend and on-screen rival Rene Nezhoda is now calling for a full criminal investigation into what he describes as a campaign of "relentless" cyberbullying.
Darrell Sheets Was 'Really, Really Tormented'
The bombshell claim came via an emotional Instagram video shared by Nezhoda. According to the reality star, Sheets — known to millions of fans as "The Gambler" — had been struggling with a digital harasser who would not let up.
"He had this guy, like, really, really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him]," Nezhoda alleged. "Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope [law enforcement] look into that guy and it’s just not a pass."
The Lake Havasu City Police Department isn't dismissing the claims. Sergeant Kyle Ridgway confirmed that investigators are "aware of these cyberbullying accusations" and they are officially being looked into as part of the ongoing case.
A Sudden Loss for the 'Storage Wars' Family
According to police, Sheets was found in his home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheets was the pulse of the A&E hit series for over a decade, famously betting his "gut" on abandoned lockers and uncovering massive scores that became the stuff of reality TV legend. After moving to Arizona, he opened Havasu Show Me Your Junk, remaining a visible and beloved figure in the local community.
The investigation remains open as the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office completes its review.
