Snooki to Undergo Hysterectomy for Cervical Cancer
Earlier this year, Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer, but it was luckily in an early stage and curable.
The 38-year-old reality fan favorite explained that she had been going for routine checkups after precancerous cells were initially found, but eventually started putting off the screening appointments.
“My doctor was leaving me a voicemail screaming at me like, ‘You need to get in here. This is serious. You don’t want it to escalate.’ That’s when I finally went in,” Snooki told People, adding “a ton” of precancerous cells were then found.
The cancer has not spread since she found out in February, and she will be undergoing a hysterectomy, which will mean she won’t need to undergo any further treatment.

“I’m not great with pain, so thinking about removing an organ is scary. That’s a part of being a woman and even though I’m done having kids, the thought of not being able to really upset me. It messes with you a little bit,” she added.
Snooki and her husband, Jionni LaValle, share Lorenzo, 13, and Angelo, 6, and daughter Giovanna, 11.
“I talk to my doctor all the time now. I wanna be healthier. I’m just trying to be the best version of myself because I’m getting older and I wanna age gracefully,” she continued.
She added, “I feel like nobody talks about cervical cancer. The main point of me talking about this is for girls to get on their s–t and not do what I did… this is very preventable.”
Numerous celebrities have spoken out about undergoing hysterectomies, including Kathy Griffin, who revealed hers was removed in January of 2025, and Lena Dunham, who had her uterus removed years ago.
