Chiefs Even Series at 2 games
The Chilliwack Chiefs beat the Prince George Spruce Kings 4-1 in Game 4 on Wednesday night at the Chilliwack Coliseum to even up the best of seven second round series at 2-2.
Chilliwack opened the scoring at 12:15 of the opening frame as Arjun Bawa got by a Spruce Kings defender and cut to the net tucking it past the right pad of Ryder Green to make it 1-0. Shots in the first were 14-11 Prince George.
The Chiefs made it 2-0 at 7:44 of the second as AJ Schaaf was left all alone on the right side and he beat Green blocker side to make it 2-0.
The Spruce Kings struggled to get the offense going until 16:25, as Cooper Faughnan scored to make it 2-1. The goal came after a Trent LeDrew stretch pass found Mason Loewen, who went in on a breakaway. As he was taken down, he swept the puck back out front to Faughnan who buried it.
The momentum of that goal was cut short at 1:38 of the third period when Kolby Francis walked off the bench down the middle and was found by Boris Borin to make it 3-1.
The Chiefs would add an empty netter.
