Also set to join the cast are Bosch‘s Titus Welliver and Moonlight‘s Trevante Rhodes, with all four as new series regulars in the upcoming fourth season.
The action thriller television show is set to relocate from New York to Los Angeles.
While minimal details on the new character are available, Li is thought to be playing Dom’s wife Min, Elizabeth as Peter’s (Basso) ex-fiancee Zoe, Titus as special DOJ prosecutor Duval and Trevante as Dom, Peter’s new partner.
Previously, following the release of season three, creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan teased a new partner for Peter.
“I don’t want to say anything other than it’s a new character that we’ve never met before,” he told Deadline.
“I think, ironically, someone who’s more intense than he is I think would help Peter see the logical end result of him being always switched on,” Gabriel Basso added. “I think having a character that is Peter dialed to 100 would force Peter to go, whoa, I’m this, this is what it’s like to work with me?”
Here’s the season three synopsis: Coming off the explosive events of Season Two, Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while avoiding its paid assassins, while putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist. Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees — and get them both killed in the process.
