Abbott Elementary Season 5 is coming to an end!

The Season 5 finale airs on Wednesday (April 22) on ABC across two episodes, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Typically, Abbott airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET, but for the finale, there will be a new episode at 8:00 p.m. ET and another at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Here’s a synopsis: “It’s Ava Fest, and Ava’s determined to make it her biggest yet; rumors begin to swirl when the Abbott crew is in Miami for PECSA weekend.”

Fans are surely wondering whether the show will be continuing on another season.

Abbott Elementary is renewed for the 2026-2027 TV season!

The fan favorite comedy series is coming back in the Fall, the network confirmed in March.

The ABC series has been on the air since December 2021, and it’s quickly become a fan-favorite.

This renewal must come as a relief for fans, who grew worried when star Quinta Brunson admitted the show would not last forever.

“I have cast members who would love to pursue other projects, and our show is very time-consuming. We shoot about seven months out of the year. That can stop people from being able to do a lot of other things,” she told Bustle last year.

One year prior, she said to Elle: “When I first started, I was like, ‘Yeah, 10 seasons.’ Now I’m like, ‘We’ll see about that.’ That would be a blessing. But also, this is a lot of work. I want to make sure, no matter what, I get to worry not about the numbers or the money, but what kind of story we are telling and feeling when it’s time for the story to come to a close.”

Casting details and a release date have not yet been revealed for Season 6.
