Blues v Preston - Team news & Match Thread (110 replies)
,,, been for checks at hospital and just got home ... so this is very much a "Lite Version" today.
Last time we played Preston at St Andrews it was the UB40 gig afterwards.
Preston's okay really, quite a bit of decent architecture still in place and plenty of interesting history. While some may sneer about the fact that one of the town's most notable achievements was being the place for the UK's first Kentucky Friend Chicken shop (in 1965 - Fishergate High Street over a decade before McDonald's, Burger King, and Pizza Hut) there are some very illustrious people hailing from there
Best of all ... Leo Baxendale, born in Preston in 1930, drew the Bash Street Kids, Minnie the Minx, and Dennis the Menace for the 'The Beano'. Bloke was a genius
Blues ..... Laird and Paik come into the starting XI. Solis dropped and BOS has been recovering from a dead leg all week.... Paik & Iwata as the midfield - who on earth could have guessed that from Chris Davies ?
Preston
Official Tossers .. (no deliberate mistake here)
He must still hate his parents for this : Bent Oner
Flagging : Conor Brown and Nigel Lugg
Spare : Dean Whitestone
Aulde Skool ..
Birmingham City: James Beadle, Ethan Laird, Phil Neumann, Christoph Klarer (captain), Kai Wagner, Tomoki Iwata, Paik Seung-Ho, Carlos Vicente, Ibrahim Osman, Jay Stansfield, August Priske.
Substitutes: Ryan Allsop, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Alex Cochrane, Jack Robinson, Tommy Doyle, Jhon Solis, Demarai Gray, Patrick Roberts, Marvin Ducksch.
