According to Romano, the board is “seriously considering a change of direction” after a catastrophic run of results that has seen the club’s Champions League ambitions evaporate.

While Rosenior had felt the support of the owners as recently as last week, the nature of the collapse at the Amex Stadium appears to have been the final straw.

Taking to X  Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the internal discussions are intensifying.

“The head coach always felt support from the hierarchy in recent weeks but results have been poor… and Chelsea are seriously considering a change of direction.”

The update highlights a significant shift in the club’s stance.

Despite the head coach’s public admission that the Brighton performance was “indefensible,” he had previously been viewed as a long-term project since his appointment in January.

However, with Chelsea failing to score in five consecutive Premier League games, a drought not seen at the club since 1912, the board’s patience has reached its limit.
