Corsair K65 Plus Wireless Keyboard
The Corsair K65 Plus is a fantastic board, one of the best I’ve reviewed here at PCWorld. It’s so good that I bought one for myself a little while ago, even a couple of years after it’s been on the market. Mine was a used one off eBay for around $80. Today, you can get a refurbished model, directly from Corsair, for $49.99. Hot damn, that’s over $100 off.
This is 75% dual-wireless mechanical board—and yes, it’s confusing that a 75% board is called the K65 Plus Wireless. But it’s packing a popular form factor that keeps a compact, metal-backed frame with a full function row, volume dial, and arrow keys. More importantly for me, it has full hot-swap switches (one of my most essential features in mechanical designs!) underneath its default linear set, and decent programming options via Corsair iCue. I’d prefer a web-based tool, but once it’s set you can use it without the software, even via Bluetooth.
This thing is packed with other features, too. A long-lasting battery, PBT keycaps (better than the usual ABS, especially at this price), RGB lighting, dual-stage feet, 1,000Hz polling in wired and dongle mode. One thing it doesn’t have that’s become more common these days is gasket mounting for the PCB, but I actually prefer the stiffer feel of the metal plate. There are still a couple of layers of sound insulation in there, but if you want it reeeeeeal quiet you might want to add on some “silent” switches.
Corsair is selling this directly via the “Revival Series” portion of their web store. That means refurbished. “Non-essential accessories are not included” so you probably won’t get a keycap/switch puller, maybe not even a USB-C cable. The warranty is only 90 days. Pretty standard for refurb electronics, and it’s worth the sacrifice at this price.
