Hibs Women To Host Celtic In Friday Night Clash
Hibs Women return to action following the international break with Friday Night Football at Meadowbank Stadium!
Our home ScottishPower Women's Premier League encounter with Celtic will kick off at 7pm on Friday 24 April.
Fixtures
- Hibernian Women Vs. Celtic Women - Fri, Apr 24 2026, 19:00
THE LOWDOWN
Joelle Murray's side are currently unbeaten in eight league matches, though a very bright start to our post-split fixtures was tainted by a disappointing result last time out.
Back-to-back draws with Rangers and Celtic were backed up by vital away victories over both Hearts and Glasgow City, but the Hibees were restricted to just a point by Partick Thistle before the break.
The Jags put on a resilient defensive showing at Meadowbank, whilst we missed from the penalty spot and were denied what appeared to be a perfectly fine goal in the closing stages.
The frustrating performance and result puts Hibs on 43 points heading into the final five matches of the league campaign.
Over the break, 13 Hibees, including 10 current First Team players, embarked on international duty; with Kathleen McGovern finding the net for Scotland once more and Stacey Papadopoulos helping Greece to the next stage of 2027 FIFA World Cup qualification.
The April international window also saw Eilidh Adams recalled to the Scotland 'A' Squad and five more Hibees representing Scotland U23s. Find out full details on our players' international performances here.
TEAM NEWS
There are no fresh injury concerns to report ahead of Friday night's match.
Linzi Taylor and Kirsten Reilly continue to be the only players unavailable for selection.
THE VISITORS
Grant Scott's side have suffered two consecutive tough defeats in the league following a strong unbeaten stretch since his appointment in January.
An away 4-1 loss to Hearts was worsened by a heavy 3-0 defeat to city rivals, Rangers, the following week; putting a dent in any title hopes the Hoops retained.
Fourth-place Celtic are currently three points ahead of the Hibees in the SPWPL standings, meaning a victory for Hibs will draw the two sides level.
Our last meeting took place at New Douglas Park in March, with Eilidh Adams' impromptu finish earning Hibernian a point from the closely-fought 1-1 draw.
