Heinz and Uber Eats Delivering Free Food During the NFL Draft’s 57th pick
The 2026 NFL Draft is in Pittsburgh this year, so it's no surprise that Heinz is upping its marketing.
The famous Pittsburgh-based ketchup brand is launching a campaign that will be lucrative and beneficial to the 57th overall pick in the NFL Draft.
As it currently stands, the Chicago Bears are set to make the 57th overall selection on Friday night, and whoever is selected, Heinz is making them the face of the brand.
A New Draft Day Tradition
When the 57th overall selection is made, Heinz will invite that player "into an exclusive club." The honor includes a lifetime supply of Heinz ketchup and the opportunity to partner with the brand.
To kick off the campaign, Heinz brought NFL legend Devin Hester to promote the partnership. Hester, of course, was selected 57th overall in the 2006 draft by the Bears.
The 57th overall selection will also receive a custom "Mr. 57" jacket, which is bright red and features Heinz-shaped mini bottles as cuff buttons.
Heinz and Uber Eats Deliver Free Food
As part of Heinz's new draft-day tradition, fans across the country will officially be on the clock when the 57th overall pick is on the clock Friday night.
In partnership with Uber Eats, Heinz will offer fans $25 off orders from Heinz-verified restaurants. For a full list of select restaurants across the country, fans can head to www.Heinz.com/Mr57.
"This year marks 157 years where Heinz has been food's best friend and fans' go-to for game-day favorites -- bringing iconic flavor to everything from burgers and fries to stadium snacks," said Jamie Mack, Associate Director of Brand Communications for Heinz U.S. "With the Draft in our hometown this year, we knew it was the right moment to go bigger than ever."
Heinz is literally painting the city red with more than 150 billboards, including at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Why is "57" a Big Deal for Heinz?
The ketchup bottle and many of Heinz's products prominently feature "57 Varieties." But the truth is, there are hundreds of varieties. And the origin of the significance of the number "57" is the stuff of legends.
It's been widely reported that there were not 57 Heinz varieties when H.J. Heinz invented the slogan in 1896. But legend has it that Heinz came up with the idea of a number on his products after he saw an advertisement for "21 Styles" of shoes, even though the shoe proprietor had more than 21 styles of shoes to sell.
Depending on the version you believe, Heinz chose "57" because it includes his lucky number "5" and his wife's lucky number, "7."
The slogan "57 Varieties" is now on every bottle of Heinz ketchup, mustard, mayo, and more.
