'90s Sitcom Star Joey Lawrence Appears Ageless on 50th Birthday: Here Are His Secrets
"Whoa!"
Joey Lawrence said that virtually every time his character walked into a room on the '90s sitcom Blossom. Now, he's making us say it with a photo he posted to Instagram for his 50th birthday.
The photo carousel evokes fellow '90s icon Mark Wahlberg's music video "Good Vibrations." Lawrence stands on a runway with his shirt off and his pants hanging low, his body looking like a sculpture.
"You might be turning 50 but you look 30," wrote one commenter.
So how does this Dancing With the Stars alum keep himself so fit and youthful? Well, it turns out it's a lot of work.
Joey Lawrence's Anti-Aging Tricks, From Early Workouts to Skincare
If it wasn't obvious based on his appearance, Lawrence does intense workouts regularly — and does them at 3 a.m.! He's posted about his "3AM Club" on YouTube and Instagram, encouraging his followers and fans to work out with him before the sun even comes up. Although he hasn't posted any 3AM Club content on YouTube since 2021, there are plenty of workouts to follow, from back to abs to triceps to shoulders.
In addition to working out, Lawrence puts plenty of effort into his skincare. On an episode of his podcast Brotherly Love, he revealed that he's "a big proponent" red light therapy. "I do the 12 minute cycle on my face," he explained. "I [also] try to get 20 minutes of sun a day."
Lawrence has also been open about his scalp micropigmentation, a procedure that tattoos the appearance of hair onto your scalp. "I had kind of thinning hair, and I didn't want to go for the surgery of hair transplants," he explained in an Instagram Reel. "But I wanted something I thought could give me, you know, a slightly more dense look." The reel even contains video of Lawrence undergoing the procedure, having pigment deposited directly into his scalp.
"It ended up being exactly what I needed," he said, "... and made me feel a lot more secure and confident about myself."
