Celtic consider former Tottenham boss as next manager, but it isn’t Ange Postecoglou
The interest in Thomas Frank’s services appears to be growing as the campaign comes to an end, with Celtic now entering the race for the former Tottenham boss.
Frank lasted just eight months in the Spurs hotseat, and he never managed to win over the Tottenham faithful, due to his pragmatic approach.
Some pundits have said in hindsight that Frank was always doomed to fail at Spurs, as he just was not a natural fit for the club’s ethos.
Tottenham have now gone back to another manager who prides himself on possession-based, attacking football in Roberto De Zerbi, who remains confident of keeping the club in the Premier League despite their current predicament.
Celtic eyeing move for former Tottenham boss Thomas Frank
Football Fancast have now revealed that Celtic are now assessing their options to replace interim boss Martin O’Neill this season, and remain undecided on their top target.
It is revealed that Frank has now been added to the Scottish club’s wishlist after his sacking by Spurs back in February.
The report states that the 52-year-old is currently taking a break from management, but he was spotted in the stands during Brentford’s clash against Fulham on Saturday.
The outlet adds that Celtic would need to secure European football next season in order to tempt Frank north of the border.
Two English clubs are also eyeing Frank
Earlier this month, Football Insider claimed that Frank is in contention to replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace this summer after the Austrian confirmed he will be leaving Selhurst Park at the end of the campaign.
If he does join the South London club, the Dane will have an awkward reunion with Brennan Johnson, whom he moved on from Tottenham in January.
Additionally, it has emerged over recent days, it has been suggested that Birmingham City are eyeing an ambitious move for Frank as they attempt to make a push for promotion next season.
