‘Pull those pages out’: Church ‘bishop’ claims Bible is ‘NOT the Word of God’ and a Third Testament is required
A “bishop” of the United Church of Christ has lashed out angrily at the Bible, condemning it as “not the word of God” and unacceptable because of the verses it contains.
But Yvette Flunder, senior pastor at the City of Refuge United Church of Christ group in Oakland, California, has the perfect solution:
Rip out the pages that she finds offensive and have a Third Testament to fix the first two.
“The New Testament is NOT the word of God’
UCC Bishop says we need a ‘Third Testament’ because the first two are ‘problematic,’ and contain bad theology.

Flunder goes extremist even in a community of extremists who already have found biblical support for LGBT lifestyle choices, for abortion, for racism, and more.
A report at Protestia reveals she is “Presiding Bishop of The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries,” And “an avowed ‘womanist.” And a “proponent of liberation theology.” Further, she is “gay-married” to another woman and is “about as progressive and liberal as they come,” the report said.
Addressing the Center for Public Theology & Public Policy, she demanded, “This a very dangerous thing that I’m about to say now… a bit dangerous. I’m of the opinion that we need a Third Testament. because the Bible has become problematic. ‘Slaves obey your masters as you do the Lord’ – It’s a text. ‘Let the women keep silent in the churches and if they have any questions let them ask their husbands at home.’
“Now I’m a believer,” she claimed. “My whole heart, I trust God with my whole heart. I wake up in the morning talking to God and God talking to me. But I am completely frustrated with the ways in which the text speaks to the kind of vitriolic God that makes those kinds of things.
“And people will say, ‘well, it’s in the book.’ And I said, then we need to pull that page out. And they said, ‘well, you can’t do it. It’s the Word of God.’ I said, no, it’s words about God. Come on now. But is it the Word of God? No. It is not the Word of God.”
Christian commentator and author Eric Metaxas responded with a comment:
The Nazis were doing precisely the same thing with the Bible. Things that didn’t appeal to them were simply ripped out. It’s a Satanic project. https://t.co/3LZn5EgSrN
