Meet WABA’s New Prince George’s County Organizer, Matthew Onojafe!
Matthew Onojafe is the Prince George’s County Organizer for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, bringing a deep passion for cycling advocacy, community engagement, and local impact. A proud Prince George’s County native, Matthew is the owner of Jafe Cycling, a community-driven bike shop based in Bowie, Maryland, dedicated to growing the region’s cycling culture.
Through his leadership, Matthew has launched initiatives focused on expanding youth cycling opportunities within the local public-school system, working to introduce the next generation to the benefits of riding. His work is rooted in a strong commitment to increasing awareness around cycling safety and advancing road infrastructure to create safer, more accessible streets for all.
With extensive experience in event planning and community development, Matthew has built a reputation for bringing people together through impactful programming and partnerships. His work has been featured in major outlets including Forbes, FOX 5 DC (Biz Beat), Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, The Baltimore Times, and The Washington Post, among others.
Now joining WABA’s advocacy team, he is focused on strengthening connections across Prince George’s County and driving meaningful progress in making safer for all who walk, bike, and access transit in the county.
