Donald Trump Interrupts His Rant About 'Dead Country' to Explain Why He Walks Slowly Down Airplane Stairs
Donald Trump had a lot to say while appearing on Squawk Box on CNBC this morning (April 21).
Host Joe Kernen asked about negotiations with Iran relating to Saudi Arabia.
“Well, he’s another great guy,” Trump said, possibly referring to the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
“You know, he gave me the famous line that I use a little bit. He said, a year and a half ago, sir, you were a dead country. Now you’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. He said that to me, and it’s true,” Trump ranted. “We were a dead country. We had a guy that wasn’t respected. We had a country that was laughed at.”
He then pivoted, alleging that former President Joe Biden could not walk up a set of stairs. Trump then said of himself, “I have to be careful because if I do trip or fall, it’s got to be the biggest [story]. That’s why when I get out of those planes, I walk nice and slowly. I’m not looking to set any speed records, but we had an embarrassing country. We had a country that was going to fail.”
Earlier this year, Trump offered a bizarre explanation for the way that he walks down the stairs amid attention on his health.
