UConn transfer Eric Reibe commits to USC
By JAMES MADDEN
Eric Musselman and USC have officially picked up a highly-coveted 7-foot-1 center, according to reports. UConn transfer Eric Reibe will be headed to Los Angeles to join a revamped USC roster next season.
The German center visited USC over the weekend and has ultimately decided to head west and play for the Trojans next season.
Primarily serving as the backup to Tarris Reed Jr. this season, Reibe averaged 5.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 40 appearances for the Huskies this season, which ended in a loss in the NCAA Championship game.
Of the 40 appearances, Reibe started in just five of them, due to an injury sustained by Reed in November.
He’ll join a recruiting class at USC that is ranked third across the nation, including its high school additions of five-star Christian Collins and Darius & Adonis Ratliff.
Reibe is USC’s second pickup in the transfer portal, joining fellow Big East transfer and former Georgetown guard KJ Lewis, who committed to the Trojans last week.
