Why We Love This Deal

It doesn’t matter where you live in the United States: gas prices are incredibly high. And if you don’t have an eco-friendly vehicle, your pockets are probably hurting whenever you’re at the pump. But, if you invest in an e-bike—like this generic-brand model from Walmart that’s currently 72% off—you can avoid the brutal gas prices, ride electric, and make getting around, at least locally, a little more fun.

The 26-inch XKJ Electric Mountain Bike is on sale for $310, which is $790 off the original $1,100 price tag. This e-bike boasts a near-perfect five-star rating at Walmart and is listed as a bestseller. It’s also in over 200 people’s virtual carts at the moment, and for a bike that can get up to 40 miles of range for under $500, we're not surprised. If there's one downside, it's that shipping is $60, but it's a small price to pay given how much filling up a tank costs right now.

What Shoppers Should Know

  • Frame: 26 inches
  • Maximum Speed: 25 miles per hour
  • Maximum Distance: 40 to 45 miles on a single charge
  • Peak Motor: 750 watts
  • Dual-Disc Brakes: Yes
  • Weight: 53 pounds
  • Maximum Weight Capacity: 300 pounds

If you’re looking to commute to work without worrying about rising gas costs, this e-bike is a smart choice. It can travel up to 45 miles on a single charge, which should be more than enough for most short to mid-distance commutes. Plus, thanks to the powerful, 750-watt peak motor, this electric bike can hit speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. Based on what I’ve seen out there, as I’ve looked at plenty of e-bikes while writing for Men’s Journal and Autoblog, that’s an impressive speed without being so fast that it becomes a little dangerous.

And speaking of safety, this e-bike uses dual-disc brakes to ensure your ride is smooth, whether you’re on a bumpy trail or flat pavement. Moreover, the charging time is around 5 to 6 hours, and your purchase even comes with a lock, though if you're in a major city, it's probably worth investing in a good Kryptonite lock.

In terms of price, this is a terrific deal. Despite the $60 shipping fee, your purchase still comes with accessories and is less than many other generic-brand e-bikes at Walmart.

The XKJ Electric Bike is nearly $800 off at Walmart right now. Shop for it today and cruise by the gas station without a second thought.
