Patrick Muldoon's Cause Of Death Revealed
Patrick Muldoon’s cause of death has been revealed after his sudden passing at age 57.
Muldoon died on Sunday, April 19, following a heart attack, reports Deadline. The Days of Our Lives actor died in his Beverly Hills home, according to his sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, who told TMZ that Patrick spent Sunday morning with his partner, Miriam Rothbart, before going to shower. When Rothbart went to check on him after he had been in the shower for some time, she found him unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Muldoon is a California native who began his acting career while studying at USC with a two-episode arc on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? After his 1991 graduation, he landed a three-episode recurring role on Saved By the Bell.
In 1992, Muldoon originated the role of Austin Reed on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives until 1997. He returned to the soap to reprise the role from 2011 to 2012. Muldoon also starred on the primetime soap opera Melrose Place as the villain Richard Hart.
Muldoon is survived by Rothbart, his partner of two years; his parents, Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr.; his sister and brother-in-law, Shana and Ahmet Zappa; and their children, Muldoon’s beloved niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa.
A friend described Muldoon to Deadline as “endlessly generous — with his poetry, his humor, and his unmistakable presence,” adding that Muldoon “loved animals and people alike, gave unforgettable hugs, and possessed a rare quality of making others feel safe and seen,” his friends said. “Stylish, charismatic, and full of life, he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock ‘n’ roll spirit.”
