Anne Hathaway Is Going Through An 'Unusual' Time in Her Marriage to Husband Adam Shulman
This is Anne Hathaway’s year! With five major theatrical releases on the docket — Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Flowervale Street, and Verity — the 43-year-old star is going to be everywhere in 2026.
That leaves her husband, Adam Shulman, and their two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, on their own a little bit more while Hathaway promotes her projects around the globe. Still, she’s feeling the love even though “this year in particular was unusual,” Hathaway shared with People.
“He and I both know that it’s probably never going to happen like this again. And the way he stepped up, I mean, in every possible way, he’s the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met,” she gushed. Hathaway appreciates that Shulman “holds it down” at home while she’s away working, describing him as her “dream partner.”
“It’s one thing to have dreams. It’s another thing to have somebody who helps you achieve them. I absolutely would not be able to have achieved what I’ve done without my husband,” she added.
Even though Shulman takes a quieter approach to the spotlight, some fans might be surprised to learn he’s also in the entertainment industry. He’s had a five-episode role in American Dreams with Brittany Snow in 2005, and appeared in an episode of the iconic series, The West Wing, in 2006. In the later years of his career, he’s focused on producing TV and film, collaborating with his wife on the 2014 independent film Song One.
The couple, who have been married since 2012, first met at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2008. “I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life,” she told Harper’s Bazaar U.K. in 2013. By the end of the year, Hathaway and Shulman found their way to each other after her October 2008 guest host stint with Saturday Night Live.
Hathaway’s praise of Shulman isn’t new, though; she’s been raving about him for over a decade. In December 2012, she revealed to Glamour, “I just feel that I have the greatest husband in the world for me. I would never have gotten married if it weren’t for him.
The Oscar-winning actress wholeheartedly believes that he’s her “best friend,” and they are each other’s happily ever after.
“He’s a good man. He’s beyond intelligent,” she summed up to the media outlet. “He loves fearlessly. His beliefs are beautiful. He’s my best friend. I love him.”
