Trump approval falls to 37%, majority oppose Iran war policy
A new poll in the United States shows approval of Donald Trump has fallen to 37%, with a majority of Americans expressing dissatisfaction with his performance.
According to NBC News, about 63% of adults disapprove of Trump’s performance, including nearly half who say they strongly disapprove, highlighting deep divisions in public opinion.
The survey found that 29% of respondents cited the economy as their top concern, while 24% pointed to threats to democracy as the most pressing issue.
Nearly two-thirds of respondents said they disapprove of Trump’s handling of the conflict with Iran, with 54% expressing strong opposition.
The poll, conducted around the time of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, showed little change in public opinion following the announcement.
A majority of 61% said the United States should not take further military action against Iran, while 16% supported continuing airstrikes and 23% said options including ground forces should be considered.
The survey was conducted online among 32,433 U.S. adults, with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.8 percentage points.
Public opinion in the United States remains sharply divided over foreign policy, particularly regarding military involvement in the Middle East.
The Iran conflict has emerged as a key issue, influencing both political debate and voter sentiment. The poll highlights a clear partisan split, with opposition to Trump’s policies concentrated among Democrats and independent voters, while support remains stronger among Republicans.
Analysts say such divisions reflect broader polarisation in U.S. politics ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
The findings suggest that while a minority supports continued military pressure, most Americans favour restraint, underscoring challenges for the administration’s foreign policy approach.
