Internationals: McGovern On Target & U23s Debut For Gibb
13 Hibees were on international duty across the April international window – check out how they got on below!
Kathleen McGovern & Eilidh Adams – Scotland
Kathleen McGovern enhanced her already-impressive goalscoring record at international level by increasing her Scotland tally to six goals in just eight caps during the break.
The forward started Scotland’s crucial 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Belgium at Easter Road Stadium, with international goal number six netted in dramatic fashion.
Sliding in at the back post deep into stoppage-time, McGovern converted to seal a vital point against the Red Flames – a moment “made even more special” by occurring in Leith the striker admitted after the match.
She played the full 90 minutes again as Scotland picked up another draw with the Belgians in Leuven; with the two points keeping Scotland in top spot heading into the final round of fixtures.
Eilidh Adams, who was reintroduced to the ‘A’ Squad for the first time this season by SWNT Head Coach Melissa Andreatta, was an unused substitute in both matches.

Should the Scots maintain their current first-place position, they would be seeded in the next stage of qualifying and promoted to League A in the UEFA Nations League.
Stacey Papadopoulos – Greece
Stacey Papadopoulos played a key role in Ethniki’s progression to the next stage of World Cup qualifying as they defeated the Faroe Islands in Tórshavn.
Greece led 1-0 and 3-1 on the day and never looked in doubt of failing to win, with Papadopoulos playing the full 90 at full-back.
The positive result ensured that Greece have topped Group C4, securing promotion to League B in the Nations League as well as becoming the first nation – alongside Romania – to confirm their spot in the next stage of World Cup qualifying.
Papadopoulos and her teammates returned to Athens for an international friendly against Moldova following their success.
Our defender was subbed on in the 77th minute for Maria Paterna as the Greeks were made to settle for a frustrating 1-1 draw.
Rosie Livingstone, Tegan Bowie, Hannah Jordan, Tiree Burchill & Caley Gibb – Scotland U23s
It was a productive international break for five Hibees who jetted off to Murcia with the Scotland U23s as they faced stern competition in the searing Spanish sun.
In the final fixtures of the U23 European Tournament, the Scots were narrowly defeated 1-0 by a talented France team at Estadio Nueva Condomina before limiting Denmark to a 0-0 draw – though the Danes sealed a penalty shoot-out victory – at Pinatar Arena.
Rosie Livingstone played the full 90 minutes of the tightly-contested test against France, whilst Tiree Burchill and Hannah Jordan also started before being withdrawn on 73 minutes.
There was also a special introduction off the bench for Caley Gibb, who made her U23s debut as an 87th-minute substitute.
Livingstone and Gibb both started against Denmark in Pinatar – with the former named captain and the latter making her first international start at U23 level.
Tegan Bowie, Jordan and Burchill also featured, with all three attackers introduced off the bench in the second half.
Isla Taylor, Jess Ramsay & Rowena Armitage – Scotland U19s
Scotland’s UEFA U19 Euro 2026 qualification campaign came to a cruel end during the break – with the Young Team marginally missing out on progression to the next phase of qualifying due to a tiebreaker. Despite picking up a 2-1 win over Austria and thrashing North Macedonia by nine without reply, Gary Doctor’s side would miss out on top spot after losing 2-1 to Norway.
Scotland, Norway and Austria were all tied on six points in Round 2 Group A4 and were all level on head-to-head points secured, meaning head-to-head goal difference was used to determine placings – with Austria’s 2-0 win over Norway enough to secure them top spot and advancement.
Partick Thistle loanee Isla Taylor made a late substitute appearance against Austria before starting against North Macedonia. She provided two assists and grabbed a goal of her own, firing in on the rebound to grab Scotland’s eighth goal of the afternoon.
Jess Ramsay was utilised as a substitute against North Macedonia, playing the final 25 minutes, whilst 17-year-old goalkeeper Rowena Armitage was an unused substitute in all three matches.
Eilidh McCormack & Isla McManus – Scotland U16s
Youngsters Eilidh McCormack and Isla McManus were selected in Nichola Greig’s squad for a double-header of friendlies against Northern Ireland in Carrickfergus.
The pair were involved as the Young Team defeated their hosts 2-0 in the first match, before being held to a 1-1 draw in their second meeting.
