Netflix Quietly Adds Polarizing 2025 Movie After 7-Month Wait
Netflix added a new movie to its library on Sunday, April 19 — giving customers access to the polarizing 2025 supernatural horror film, "Him."
This addition comes seven months after the movie — produced by successful horror director Jordan Peele — was initially released in theaters on Sep. 19, 2025.
The film was directed by Justin Tipping and features a cast starring Marlon Wayans, Tyriq Withers, Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker and Jim Jeffries. It was produced with a budget of $27 million and pulled in $28 million at the box office.
"Him" struggled to deliver on the hype following its release, landing a 31% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 56% audience score.
Wayans, the film's star, responded to negative reviews in a social media post last year.
"Just to be clear... I respect critics," Wayans said on Instagram. "Their job is to critique. I respect their work. It shapes out industry. But an opinion does not always mean it's everyone's opinion. Some movies are ahead of the curve. Innovation is not always embraced and art is to be interpreted, and it's subjective. I've had a career of making classic movies that weren't critically received, and those movies went on to be CLASSICS. So don't take anyone's opinion, just go see for yourself. Love to all. Him in theaters now."
"Him" is now available on Netflix.
