Tottenham could get £17m Vicario payday as Inter Milan rumour has been rubbished
Inter Milan have now reportedly taken a significant step towards signing Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario.
Over recent months, it has been widely reported that Inter Milan are making advances in a deal to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Spurs this summer.
However, some recent updates from Italy have cast some doubts over the deal. CalicoMercato suggested a few days ago that further discussions will be necessary at Inter before a final decision is made on Vicario.
This was followed by another update from TuttoMercatoWeb, which claimed that Spurs could price the goalkeeper out of a switch to the San Siro.
Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario has already agreed personal terms with Inter Milan
However, L’Interista have now suggested that despite the previously mentioned reports over recent days, Inter are not having any second thoughts about moving for the 29-year-old.
Vicario has always been the Nerazzurri’s top goalkeeper target, with the club’s decision-makers identifying him as the ‘number one candidate’ to take over the gloves from Yann Sommer.
In fact, the report claims that the Serie A club have already reached a ‘basic agreement’ on a four-year contract with the Spurs star ahead of the summer.
Vicario is seen as a proven Serie A performer by Inter, who have allegedly agreed to offer him a contract worth €3m (£2.6m) per season.
How much are Inter willing to pay for Vicario?
L’Interista say that Spurs will not oppose the former Empoli man’s departure this summer as the North London club are eyeing changes in goal.
However, it is explained that Inter are yet to sit down with Tottenham to hammer out an agreement for Vicario. Cristian Chivu’s men are hoping to land the Italy international for a fee of around €18m-€20m (£15.7m-£17.4m).
The publication adds that there are no problems on one player’s side, and Inter would only consider moving for alternatives if they are unable to reach an agreement with Spurs regarding Vicario.
