'I Feel So Free' Lyrics: Madonna Shares First 'Confessions II' Song After Coachella Performance
Madonna is back in a major way.
The 67-year-old “Get Together” Queen of Pop just announced a release date for her fifteenth studio album, Confessions II in the past week, and has now shared “I Feel So Free,” the first taste of the new record on Saturday (April 18) following her Internet-breaking surprise cameo during Sabrina Carpenter‘s Coachella set.

“I Feel So Free” is the first song on the upcoming album, but not the official lead single from the campaign. It first premiered on iHeart’s PRIDE Radio, and was serviced globally to DJs to be previewed at clubs before it was officially released after the Coachella performance alongside Sabrina.
“Thanks for coming / Sometimes I like to just hide in the shadows / Create a new persona / A different identity / I can be whoever I wanna be,” she declares in the song’s opening.
The song also interpolates and samples 1989 hit “French Kiss” by Lil Louis, who is often credited as the founding father of House music.
“People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language,” Madonna said in a statement about the upcoming record. See what else she said.
Confessions II is the follow-up to 2005′s Confessions on a Dance Floor.
