Preview: CAS Elite U19 League Cup Semi-Final
The wee Hibees are in search of a place in the CAS Elite U19 League Cup Final as they face Dundee United on Monday (20 April) evening at Foundation Park!
Fixtures
- Dundee United U19s Vs. Hibernian U19s - Mon, Apr 20 2026, 19:30
THE LOWDOWN
Darren McGregor’s side earned their spot in the Semi-Final stage with a strong Group Stage showing, winning five matches and losing just once in a group consisting of St Mirren, who also progressed, Rangers, and Motherwell.
The sole defeat came on matchday four against the Buddies at HTC, though St Mirren were defeated on away turf and Rangers and Motherwell were both twice beaten convincingly home and away.
The second Semi-Final fixture will be played on Tuesday 21 April and will be contested between St Mirren and Hearts.
Our most recent outing saw us return to league action to take on Celtic at HTC. The Glasgow outfit would twice level after an own goal and a powerful Callum MacDonald header on two occasions put us ahead at home.
Late drama followed, with a potential ‘ghost goal’ and a strong penalty shout both not awarded in Hibs favour. Despite this, Hibs kept pushing on against a youthful Celtic side, and the winner was found deep into stoppage-time by Josh McDonald, who netted for the third competitive match in a row, as he swept home from a Cole Shankland cross.
THE HOSTS
Dundee United find themselves in the Semi-Final of the League Cup after mixed results in the group stage.
Defeated 6-1 by Kilmarnock on the opening matchday, United bounced back with mixed results against Hearts and Killie. Back-to-back wins over Celtic then assured the Terrors of progression.
After defeating Dundee United at home in October, our U19s were narrowly defeated 1-0 in the league during our last trip to Foundation Park in March.
HOW TO WATCH
Supporters from both teams are free to attend the CAS Elite U19 League Cup Semi-Final clash.
Kick-off is 7:30pm on Monday 20 April at Foundation Park, Dundee.
