Aston Villa transfer business next summer most likely includes a Bayern Munich midfielder who has been in demand recently.

 Bayern Munich’s talented midfielder, Noel Aseko, has been on the radar of plenty of clubs in Europe. He is currently being loaned out to Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96 but has impressed many potential suitors. According to the report in Sky Sports Germany, Villa are one of those interested parties.

Villa would have to hold the talks immediately, as Giallorossi is not the only club which has made a solid move. Aseko is under contract with the Bavarian side till 2028 and currently valued at £6.96 million, but Die Roten are reportedly open to releasing him for £8.7-10.4 million in the summer. However, they also have the option to keep him should Bayern boss Vincent Kompany choose to integrate him with the first team.

The Bundesliga giant snatched him from the Hertha Berlin academy in 2022. He soon impressed them and was promoted to the reserve team. In 2023, he was included in the first team before being sent on loan to Hannover 96 in summer 2025. 

How good is Noel Aseko?

Noel Aseko is a versatile defensive midfielder. He can be deployed as midfielder number 5, central midfielder number 6 or even as an attacking midfielder when necessary. He has contributed three goals and six assists this season.

 The midfielder of Equatorial Guinean descent is well-known for his excellent vision, tackling and high intensity on pressing as well as quick transition to the attacking build-up with dribbling and making key passes and through balls. He also likes to do layoffs and play short passes often, which fits Unai Emery‘s team’s style of play. 

 Based on the data in FotMob, he has made 44 tackles, 24 interceptions and four blocking shots this season. Aseko also excels in penetrating in the final third, creating big chances and successful crosses. Such might be suitable for English football.

Aseko could potentially help his club gain promotion to the top flight too. They are sitting fourth with 53 points, only two points shy of Elvesberg on the third and five points adrift of the league leader, Schalke 04. Anything is still possible with five games remaining in the German second tier this season.
