UConn is bringing in a former five-star and McDonald’s All-American via the transfer portal, sources confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.
The Huskies have landed 6-foot-8 Duke transfer Nik Khamenia, it was announced on Saturday.
As a freshman at Duke this season, the Los Angeles native played in 38 games for the Blue Devils, averaging 5.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for Jon Scheyer’s squad.
Now, he’ll head to the team that completed a miraculous comeback to eliminate Duke from the NCAA Tournament less than a month ago.
Khamenia is UConn’s second addition in this year’s transfer portal, joining Seton Hall transfer Najai Hines, who’ll like be the Huskies’ starting center next season.
The Huskies have also landed commitments from two top-40 recruits in Colben Landrew and Junior County.
