Man United target Cole Palmer makes bold transfer admission before Chelsea showdown
Manchester United are set for a major squad overhaul this summer.
One of the standout Premier League names strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford is Cole Palmer.
Fittingly, United are set to go head-to-head with Chelsea later today in a high-stakes league clash.
Palmer has now revealed that he has no desire to return to Manchester, his hometown, as he remains fully committed to achieving success with the Blues.
The England international said in a recent interview (via The Guardian): “Everyone just talks. When I see it I just laugh. Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it.
“Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months or something. But then when I get home I think there is nothing there for me anyway.
“I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We’ve still got a lot to play for.”
Bruno Fernandes is an undisputed starter in the number 10 role, a position that is best suited to Palmer.
Fernandes is expected to stay next season, but the club must eventually begin planning for life after their influential captain.
The Chelsea star is a fantastic talent and has the potential to become one of the best in the world.
He first burst onto the scene at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola before making a high-profile switch to Stamford Bridge in 2023.
Since then, he has registered an impressive 53 goals and 31 assists in 124 appearances across all competitions.
It does not seem that Palmer wants to switch the clubs now but the situation may change in the summer of 2027.
Should Fernandes’ future come into question, United could be tempted to reignite their pursuit of Palmer in the years ahead.
It is also important to note that Palmer is not yet at Fernandes’ level.
His creative output has dipped this season, with just one Premier League assist to his name so far.
His dip in form has also mirrored Chelsea’s inconsistent campaign.
Nevertheless, there remains a strong belief that, under the guidance of a visionary manager, Palmer could quickly rediscover his best form.
