D4vd's Lawyers Speak Out After His Arrest, Say Rapper 'Was Not the Cause' of Celeste Rivas-Hernandez's Death
D4vd‘s lawyers are responding to his arrest.
On Thursday (April 16), the LAPD announced that the 21-year-old rapper, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas-Hernandez. His arrest comes seven months after a decomposed body was found in an abandoned Tesla registered to him.
Booking records show that D4vd is being held without bail, though he has yet to be officially be charged by prosecutors.
Following news of D4vd‘s arrest, his lawyers spoke out, saying that the rapper “was not the cause” of Celeste‘s death.
Keep reading to find out more…“Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” D4vd‘s attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter shared in a statement with People.
“There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed,” the attorneys continued. “David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
Last year, Celeste was reported missing from her home in California, having last been seen in April 2024.
In November, gruesome details about Celeste‘s murder were revealed after D4vd was named a suspect in the case.
