Meghan Trainor's BFF Chris Olsen Responds to Backlash for Cancelling Tour, Defends Her Against Critics

Chris Olsen is clapping back at ruthless critics who are coming after his BFF Meghan Trainor amid her decision to cancel her tour.

Meghan announced this week that she’s cancelling her The Girl in Girl Tour to focus on her family, months after the birth of her third child.

Chris took to his backup TikTok account, @notolsennchris, to speak out about the news.

“I guess now it’s become public knowledge that Meghan Trainor has cancelled her tour. And on one of the posts that was saying that that happened, the comment section was predictably vicious,” Chris began, adding that there’s an issue on the internet with people leaving nasty comments.

“The question that always comes up for me is ‘Why?’ And, ‘What is the end goal?’ Because sure, the goal might be to make other people laugh because you’re saying something that’s mean, but you think it’s funny. The goal could be to hurt the person you’re commenting towards,” Chris continued, noting that he’s had to deal with this in his own life.

“I’ve been on the receiving end of a death threat before, so I know sometimes people do just want you to die, which I know also just means they want you to go away,” he added. “And maybe they just want to say it in the harshest way possible.”

Chris also reacted to people saying that Meghan needs to learn how to handle backlash because she chose to be famous.

“And the last thing that I’ll say, is that when we say to celebrities, ‘You chose this life. You’re going to have to deal with all the bad things that come with it, including people being really horrible to you or people saying the worst things that you ever heard in your life,’ what we’re really saying is, ‘We’re going to tolerate people being really mean and horrible, but we’re not going to tolerate your reaction,’” Chris said in a second video.
