Natalie Portman and boyfriend Tanguy Destable are expecting a baby together!

The 44-year-old actress revealed her pregnancy in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar on April 17. “Tanguy and I are very excited,” she said. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

The actress, who shares a son Aleph, 14, and a daughter Amalia, 9, with her ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied, started dating Destable in March 2025, a year after her divorce was finalized. Millepied and Portman split after over a decade of marriage amid reports that he cheated on her with a climate activist.

Portman has been in a relationship with Tanguy Destable, a French musician, since March 2025. French outlet Voici was the first to report news of their new relationship with Destable, posting photos of them looking rather cozy together on a night out in France. People later confirmed the news.

He’s French

Yes, Destable is a Frenchman! He was born in Morlaix, France, which is a town in Brittany, northwestern France. It’s a historic town that’s beloved nowadays for being a haven for sea sports enthusiasts.

In a 2016 interview with The French Shuffle, he said growing up in a small town made it hard to further his music career. “I grew up in a small town in Brittany in the 90s and it was hard to find band members … so I decided to buy a sampler and synth to replace the drummer and bass player,” Destable said. “I couldn’t find and do it all by myself.” 

Portman is also a long-time resident of France after moving to Paris when Millepied started working for the Paris Opera Ballet. She has remained there after their divorce. “Paris, of course, is just a dream,” Portman told Vanity Fair in 2024. “I’m so lucky to get to live here and have an enormously stimulating city life with incredible friends.”

He’s Been Working in the Music Industry for Decades

Destable, whose stage name is Tepr, was in musical groups from 2000 til 2014. He was in the group Abstrackt Keal Agram from 2000 to 2006 (and they were an opener for Katy Perry’s California Dreams tour), and was in the group Yelle from 2007 to 2014.

Since then, he’s been working solo. He released his first album, Hypnotease, in 2015, and since then, he’s released three more albums called: Technosensible, Dance Works 2015-2018, and La nuit se traine (Bande originale du film). Per Ra.Co, he’s also helped out with Thomas Azier, pop-star Marlene, and worked on music for video game creator Hideo Kojima.

He Assisted in the Score for an Oscar-Winning Film

Per DailyMail, along with being a music producer working with multiple bands, he helped compose the score for an Oscar-winning film: I’m Still Here. It was nominated for Best Picture, and a few other awards, but won the award for Best International Feature Film at the 2025 Oscars.

He’s Acted in the Past

He’s acted in the past, but played himself in one of them. Either way, it’s still super cool that he was in the movies My Cousin in 2020 and Yo! Pekin in 2016.

He’s Dabbled in Other Forms of Entertainment As Well

Along with composing and acting, he’s worked in the art department as well. He was an assistant decorator on the show Les enquêtes d’Éloïse Rome back in 2002, per his IMDb page.

He Dated Another Actress & Has 2 Sons With Her

Before Portman, Tanguy was dating Louise Bourgoin, who has starred in French films like I Am a Soldier, A Real Job, and The White Knights, from 2013 until an unknown time. With Bourgoin, he shares two sons: Étienne, born in April 2016, and Vadim, born in 2020.

Portman gushed about how grateful she is to be having a baby with Destable at 44 to Harper’s Bazaar in an April 17 interview.

“I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” she said. “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing.” She adds, “And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
