Jill Biden Tried to Pay $35,000 for a Role on 'Heated Rivalry,' But She Was Outspent
Former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden wants to be on the new season of Heated Rivalry. On April 16, the 74-year-old bid $35,000 for a walk-on role in the upcoming second season as well as a chance to grab dinner with the cast of the steamy gay romance series.
The auction was held at the Center Dinner, an annual benefit gala put on by The New York City LGBT Community Center. Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney, executive producer Brendan Brady, and the books' author Rachel Reid were honorees of the night, leading to the highly coveted auction item of a walk-on role for the season that is currently in pre-production.
Unfortunately for Dr. Biden, she was outbid by over three times as much as she was willing to pay. The walk-on role and dinner went to two different bidders who paid $125,000 each.
Dr. Biden joked about losing the bid in a response to Variety's coverage of the event, saying "Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all — but it was worth a shot!"

The second season of Heated Rivalry, based on the novels by Reid, is expected to start filming by summer and is set to be released to Canadian and American television networks by April 2027. While Dr. Biden likely won't make an appearance, most of the original cast is expected to return.
Prior to the bidding war at Cipriani Wall Street, Dr. Biden was introduced as the special guest of the evening by the gala's co-chair Jill Schlessinger. Other notable guests of the evening were Attorney General Letitia James and Spice Girls member Melanie C, who was also being honored on Thursday evening.
The Center Dinner auction raised over half a million dollars for various LGBTQ charities throughout the night.
