Here's Which Motorcycle From 'The Matrix' Movies Keanu Reeves Still Cherishes
Keanu Reeves knows motorcycles. As the co-founder of ARCH Motorcycle with Gard Hollinger, he has overseen the production of some incredibly fast machines. Recently, for the cover story of the Spring 2026 Men's Journal print issue, Eric Hendrikx got a first-hand look at the bikes ARCH has created over the years. And ahead of the launch of the six-part docuseries Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project, Men's Journal got a look at how Reeves and Hollinger took incredible risks to make their racing dreams come true. Not only does ARCH still build coveted street motorcycles, but they've now expanded into a racing team. "It’s the next step for ARCH. Now we have ARCH Racing," Reeves said.
But as Reeves and ARCH race into an ambitious future, nobody has forgotten the past. In fact, Reeves still keeps around one of the exact motorcycles used in the filming of the iconic Matrix movies, and interestingly, it's not even one he rode on screen. Instead, as Hendrikx discovered, Reeves still has the green Ducati 996 that Carrie-Anne Moss rode in the 2002 sequel, The Matrix Reloaded.
“We’ve sort of become the custodians of that one,” Reeves revealed.
Reeves also owns the first bike that Hollinger built for him, and a polished steel version of that prototype appeared in 2021's The Matrix Resurrections.
Could ARCH Motorcycle have existed without The Matrix? Maybe, maybe not, but Reeves is keenly aware that legacy is a huge part of what he and Hollinger are hoping to build with ARCH. "I hope...that someday someone opens a book of great motorcycles and gives us a nod," Reeves said, "Maybe they’ve got an ARCH in their garage."
