Netflix Removing All Seasons Of Bryan Cranston Crime Drama
While Malcolm in the Middle's revival series Life's Still Unfair continues to dominate the streaming charts, Netflix has seemingly decided not to capitalize on the widespread love for Bryan Cranston, who plays eccentric family patriarch Hal in the classic '00s sitcom.
Your Honor, a Showtime crime series which aired for two seasons between 2021 and 2023, sees Cranston play Michael Desiato, an esteemed judge whose son (played by Hunter Doohan) kills a young boy during a hit-and-run. After finding out the deceased teenager was the son of a prominent mob boss, he breaks the law and his own strong personal ethics to protect his son.
The series was scrapped at Showtime due to mixed reviews and dwindling viewership, but theNew York Timesruled that Your Honor was one of the biggest sleeper hits in recent memory, becoming one of the most-viewed shows on the streamer despite not being a Netflix Original.
As for Netflix's crown jewel in its streaming catalogue, Breaking Bad, another Bryan Cranston-led series frequently hailed as one of the greatest shows of all time — that will be leaving the platform too. The acclaimed drama, which aired on AMC from 2008 to 2013, was adopted by Netflix during its early years, and became a prime example of the "Netflix bump," referring to shows from other networks that got a significant surge in popularity thanks to their presence on the streamer.
Breaking Bad is set to leave Netflix on April 18, 2027. However, a deal with AMC may extend its life on the platform, which has been the case for several high-profile shows on the streamer in the past.
Your Honor leaves Netflix U.S. on May 31.
