'They are prohibited': Trump takes on harsh tone as he makes fierce demand of ally
President Donald Trump issued Israel a fierce demand on Friday as his administration continues to work to negotiate an end to the U.S. war against Iran, an effort repeatedly complicated by Israel’s continued strikes in Lebanon.
The ceasefire between the United States and Iran tentatively reached earlier this month included a provision from Tehran that would require Israel to halt its assault on Lebanon, which it invaded last month, displacing more than 1 million people – including 350,000 children – and killing more than 2,000, creating a “humanitarian crisis.” Just hours after the ceasefire was reached, however, Israel launched a major attack on Southern Lebanon.
“The U.S.A. will get all Nuclear ‘Dust,’ created by our great B2 Bombers – No money will exchange hands in any way, shape, or form,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
“This deal is in no way subject to Lebanon, either, but the USA will, separately, work with Lebanon, and deal with the Hezboolah situation in an appropriate manner. Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the U.S.A. Enough is enough!!!”
