Ciara Miller Points Out A 'Very Telling' Part Of Amanda Batula & West Wilson's Joint Statement
Ciara Miller has no time for the lack of accountability Amanda Batula and West Wilson have shown with their controversial romance. The Summer House star broke her silence in an April 17 cover story for Glamour, revealing for the first time how she felt about her co-stars’ relationship.
Miller, who was a close friend of Batula before Batula started secretly dating Miller’s ex, Wilson, says that her communication with Batula was “minimal” before the pair confirmed their romance with a joint statement on March 31.
Miller, 30, says she found out about the statement “less than 24 hours” before it was posted to Batula and Wilson’s Instagram Stories. “One [notification] was about 45 minutes before,” she adds.
“I read it with the rest of the world,” Miller says, noting something that bothered her about Wilson and Batula’s words. “There’s something about the lack of being able to say each other’s names in the statement that I found very telling, but I don’t know.”
In the infamous statement, Batula and Wilson wrote, in part, “We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.” They don’t include each other’s names nor make any mention of Miller.
In her interview with Glamour, Miller makes it clear that she’s saving most of what she has to say until the Summer House season 10 reunion, when she will come face-to-face with Batula and Wilson. She does, though, give an insight into her emotional state.
“It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors,” Miller says. “To experience it so publicly is like another layer, and then to have to see what you thought was your life still play out in season 10. It’s a major mindf–k.”
“Just know when something’s weird in your gut, there’s a reason,” she adds. “What’s done in the dark always comes to light. And sometimes you really don’t even have to do anything except sit back and let the universe handle it all.”
