Alabama adds NC State transfer Cole Cloer
By ADAM ZAGORIA
NC State transfer Cole Cloer announced his transfer to Alabama on Thursday.
A four-star small forward out of IMG Academy (FL), Cloer did not play this past season due to a knee injury but hopes to contribute to Nate Oats’ squad in the 2026-27 season.
He initially chose the Wolfpack over North Carolina, Florida, UConn, and Alabama.
IMG Academy coach Sean McAloon told ZAGSBLOG when he committed:
“Cole will be plug-and-play once he steps on campus. He’s a dynamic offensive player, an elite teammate and most importantly he’s a winner.”
An important factor in Cloer’s decision was development.
“The goal is to get to the NBA,” Cloer told ZAGSBLOG. “So wherever I feel like will put me in the league, that’s where I’ll be.”
Cloer joins Kentucky transfer center Brandon Garrison and Mississippi State center Jamarion-Davis Fleming in Alabama’s portal class.
The Tide is also bringing in four-star guards Qayden Samuels and Tarris Bouie and four-star forward Jaxon Richardson.
