Blake Jones Commits To Colorado College

NANAIMO, BC — [April 16th] — The Nanaimo Clippers are proud to announce that defenceman Blake Jones has committed to Colorado College (NCAA Division I) for the 2026–27 season.

Jones joined the Clippers in January and quickly established himself as a key contributor on and off the ice. In just 24 regular-season games with Nanaimo, he recorded 23 points, including an impressive 18 points in his first 13 games.

Beyond his individual production, Jones has played a significant role in the team’s overall success. Since his arrival, the Clippers finished the regular season 14–8–2 record and have advanced to the second round. His impact has been particularly evident on special teams, helping drive a power play that has operated at 29.6% since he joined the lineup, elevating the team’s season average to 25.6% — ranking among the top five in the league.

“Super thankful for everything Nanaimo has done for me,” said Jones. “There is no better place to play junior hockey. I’m excited for what the future holds and grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way.”

Jones’ commitment brings the Nanaimo Clippers to 10 active players with NCAA Division I commitments, the third most in the league, exemplifying the organization’s continued commitment to developing and advancing players to the next level.
