S15E45 From Platini to Lentini: Maurice Malpas’ Scotland Career
The World Cup is edging ever closer, and we can only imagine what it’s like to play in the biggest sporting event on the planet. Well, John and Dave spoke to a man who played in two of them, 55 times capped defender Maurice Malpas.
Making his debut in 1984 against France, Maurice enjoyed eight years in the Men’s National Team and is one of the few with the honour of playing in Scotland’s last home win against England in 1985 and the last victory at a World Cup against Sweden five years later. He goes through his experiences of playing at Mexico 86 and Italia 90, plus touching on Euro 92 and making the Hall of Fame. We round off with questions from the SFF community and Maurice picks a best XI from both tournaments.
