Jacob Elordi's Acting Abilities Questioned by Oscar-Winning Director Pedro Almodovar
Jacob Elordi may have an Oscar nomination to his name, but his acting abilities are still being questioned by powerful people in the industry.
Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar, one of the most acclaimed directors alive right now, discussed his thoughts on Jacob in a new interview.
Pedro won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1999 for the movie All About My Mother and he won Best Original Screenplay in 2002 for his film Talk to Her. His other well known films include Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Volver, Pain and Glory, Parallel Mothers, and The Room Next Door.

While appearing on the La Pija y la Quinqui podcast, Pedro said, “I can now see that Jacob Elordi’s stardom is indeed real. I was still wondering whether he was a sex symbol or a respected actor.”
The interview was conducted in Spanish, but translated quotes were published by The Hollywood Reporter.
Almodovar also called Jacob‘s movie Wuthering Heights “very bad,” but said he didn’t think the film’s faults were due to the actors. “They do what they can,” he said about the stars.
After saying that Jacob‘s work in Frankenstein was “comfortable,” Almodovar added, “We still need to see him, at least I do, in another role that demands more from him.”
The trailer for Jacob‘s next big-screen movie was just released.
