'Avengers: Doomsday' Trailer Reveals First Look at Robert Downey Jr as Doom
Over the past few months Marvel fans have been treated to brief teasers focusing on Steve Rogers, Thor and the X-Men, as well as one centering on Shuri and Wakandan friends and The Thing from the Fantastic Four in the leadup to it's next big hit: Avengers: Doomsday.
Combined, the teasers generated 1 billion views online, but likely won't touch the trailer just released at CinemaCon on Thursday night.
Fans Get First Look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doom
After his character didn't appear in the teasers, fans got their first glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. as Doom.
Marvel Studios honcho Kevin Feige revealed “Doomsday picks up where Avengers: Endgame left off,” Feige said, while expressing his excitement in introducing the Avengers to the X-Men.
The latest film from Marvel comes with the return of the Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe) with a script from Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
Joe Russo said of Doom, “He’s not simply a villain — he’s one of the most complex Marvel characters. He’s always three moves ahead.”
What's In the 'Avengers: Doomsday' Trailer?
In addition to fans getting their first look at Downey as Doom, the trailer also features Thor fighting Doom with Stormbreaker in his hand only to be stopped by the ultimate villain and the Fantastic Four meeting the OG MCU heroes.
“If you return, you will return as brother and sisters,” Chris Hemsworth’s Thor tells his fellow heroes about the threat of Doom, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Mark my words: We are going to need a miracle.”
The footage ended with Chris Evans surprising Hemsworth, who says, “It’s not possible,” as Evans grabs Thor’s hammer.
It also allegedly features a fight between Shang-chi and Gambit as well as Mystic turning into Yelena Belova.
