History-making Lionesses plaque pride in Nuneaton in pictures
Just over half a century on and the England Women's class of '73 found themselves back in Nuneaton - a place that not only holds a special place in their hearts but that of the Lionesses history..They played their first ever 'home' game at what was the home of Nuneaton Boro - the Manor Park ground - on 23 June 1973.The class of '73 won 8-8 with striker Pat Firth scoring a hat-trick, aged just 16.She was given the honour of unveiling the plaque at the Jubilee Centre in front of her proud and cheering team-mates.You can read the full story about the historic moment here and check out a gallery of pictures from the historic event below
