Quebec police arrest two in connection with 2024 conflict that left 14-year-old dead
Quebec provincial police say they have arrested two suspects in connection with a series of violent events in the Beauce region in 2024 that left a 14-year-old dead.
The Sûreté du Québec says Dawson Cyr-Léveillé, 24, was arrested in Valleyfield and will face charges of discharging a firearm and arson. A 30-year-old was arrested at the Quebec City Detention Centre, police said, and Quebec’s prosecution service will decide whether lay charges against him.
Police say they also arrested a 16-year-old in March in connection with the events that took place in Frampton, southeast of Quebec City, in 2024. He has been charged with obstruction, arson of a building and arson of a vehicle.
The 2024 death of Mohamed-Yanis Seghouani, a 14-year-old boy from St-Léonard, shocked the province. His body was found on land in Frampton used by the Red Devils, a Hells Angels support gang.
According to reports at the time, Seghouani and another teenager were recruited by a gang and sent to try and intimidate the Hells Angels in Beauce.
The investigation is being conducted by an SQ-led squad that investigates murders and disappearances linked to organized crime and consists of members of the provincial police force, the RCMP and officers from the Montreal, Laval and Longueuil police forces.
