Raptors’ Immanuel Quickley remains day-to-day with hamstring injury
Immanuel Quickley was present at practice on Thursday but did not participate in team drills, instead going through another individual workout as he remains day-to-day.
Quickley sustained the injury during the Raptors 136-101 regular season finale win over the Brooklyn Brooklyn Nets. Following that game, head coach Darko Rajakovic told reporters that Quickley would be undegoing an MRI on the hamstring, and that the team was still waiting on results.
In the game against the Nets, Quickley logged 17 minutes of action, scoring just four points, while grabbing two rebounds, dishing out five assists, and recording two steals before exiting.
This injury appears to be in the same leg where he has been battling plantar fasciitis, as he missed eight games from late March through early April.
Quickley has struggled with injuries throughout his time with the Raptors. He missed two games in January due to a back injury, in addition to the previously mentioned plantar fasciitis. Last season, he missed most of the season with a pelvic injury that caused him to miss eight games, a partially torn UCL in his left elbow that caused him to miss 22 games, and a hip injury that kept him out for only one game.
Even in his first season with the Raptors, Quickley missed time throughout the season with a quad contusion, hip flexor strain, and an adductor strain.
Quickley has been the Raptors’ main point guard this season, starting in a career-high 70 games this season, and averaging 16.4 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game.
As Camden McMillan noted in our Quick React to Sunday’s win, hopefully Quickley gets over this injury fast, as he is very much needed for the playoffs, as the Raptors will take on Cleveland in the first round.
The Raptors will travel to Rocket Arena to take on the Cavaliers on Saturday, April 18. Game 1 will be on Amazon Prime Video.
